Which Cable is Needed for BMW E-Series?
For most BMW E-series models, a K+DCAN cable is required. The correct cable depends on the year of manufacture and vehicle model.
Setting up USB K+DCAN Cable for BMW E-Series
- Open BMW Standard Tools → EDIABAS Configuration Center (ECC).
- Select RPLUS/ICOM on the left and set to DCAN_IFH.
- Click Save.
- Open the file OBD.ini and enter the COM port of your K+DCAN cable (e.g., COM3).
