Which cable do I need for my BMW model?
That depends on your BMW model:
- E-series (E46, E90 etc.) → K+DCAN cable
- F-series (F10, F30 etc.) → ENET cable
- G-series (G20, G30 etc.) → ENET or ICOM
What is the difference between ISTA-D and ISTA-P?
- ISTA-D (Rheingold) – Diagnosis, coding & programming for all models (E, F, G series)
- ISTA-P – Specifically for programming older E-series vehicles
Does BMW ISTA work with E-, F-, G- and I-series?
Yes, BMW ISTA supports all BMW series, as well as MINI and Rolls-Royce. For E-models, a K+DCAN cable is used; for F- and G-models, an ENET cable or ICOM.
Can I install BMW ISTA on a laptop?
Yes, ISTA runs smoothly on a laptop with Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), at least 256 GB of free space, and an Intel Core i5 or better.

- Not included: programming, ECU updates, and interface installation
