ISTA/P is the official BMW programming tool for guided control unit programming and firmware updates. E-Sys is an engineering tool for advanced VO coding and TAL calculation. Both tools complement each other – ISTA/P for programming, E-Sys for coding.
Which diagnostic interface is required?
ISTA/P is compatible with BMW ICOM Next and BMW ICOM A2. A simple ENET cable is not sufficient for ISTA/P – a BMW ICOM interface is absolutely necessary.
Which vehicles is ISTA/P suitable for?

Is technical prior knowledge necessary?
