SP-Daten Update Tool – Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1 – Set Default Folders:
First, configure the default folders for NCS Expert, WinKFP, and EDIABAS in the tool.
Step 2 – Update SP-Daten:
- Click on "Select SP Source"
- Select the folder containing the new SP-Daten files – start with the oldest model (E36)
- Path example: ...\SP-DATEN-Exx
- Click on "Update SP-Daten"
The tool automatically copies all newer files:
- ...\SP-DATEN-Exx\ECU → ...\EDIABAS\ECU
- ...\SP-DATEN-Exx\SGDAT → ...\EC-APPS\NFS\SGDAT
- ...\SP-DATEN-Exx\SGDAT → ...\NCSEXPER\SGDAT
- ...\SP-DATEN-Exx\DATEN → ...\NCSEXPER\DATEN\Exx
- Additionally, files in ...\NCSEXPER\DATEN are updated
Updated files are marked with "update →", unchanged files with "remain →".
Step 3 – Update WinKFP:
- Click on "Update WinKFP"
- The tool copies and replaces all relevant files from: ...\SP-DATEN-Exx\DATA → ...\EC-APPS\NFS\DATA
- The SGIDC.AS2 file is automatically adjusted in: ...\EC-APPS\NFS\DATA\GDATEN – for proper handling of long queues
Step 4 – Back up folders:
Backup copies of all updated folders are automatically saved with timestamps in the format: ...\[Name_Date_Time]
Step 5 – Repeat for all BMW models:
Repeat the steps above for all base models – starting with E36 up to and including E89.
Result – SP-Daten Successfully Updated
After completing all steps, your NCS Expert and WinKFP installations are successfully updated with the latest SP-Daten files and ready for use.
